Accepting Beginner to Advanced Students
I work with one-on-one with clients to improve their quality of singing, growing their vocal range, improving tone quality and color, developing vocal resonance, and enhancing breath control. Students will learn basic music theory, including note reading, sight reading, key signatures, solfeggio, rhythms, and ear training, as well audiation, solfège, and some Alexander technique.
I focus on individual student needs to improve tone quality, breath support, diction, tonality, and vocal flexibility.
Students will choose repertoire based on their singing goals, including the 26 Italian Art Songs, folk songs, pop songs, jazz songs, and selections from musicals. I have primarily have experience with and can help students study singing in French, Italian, German, English, and Spanish.
For the protection and appropriate development of the adolescent voice, I do not accept classical voice students under the age of 12. If your child is keen on learning music and good singing techniques at a younger age, we can gently explore singing pop songs and musical theater, building their ear, rhythmic understanding, and musicality until their voice has developed safely enough to begin more involved classical voice lessons. They can also start in my piano studio where they will also learn basic singing and note reading techniques.
